TEG Dehydration: Process Principles and Key Performance Parameters

Dehydration is the process of removing water from a gas so that no condensed water will be present in the system. Water is the most common contaminant in produced natural gas, and is a source for not only hydrates, but corrosion and erosion problems. TEG dehydration is the most commonly used natural gas dehydration process, often used in compressor stations to prevent hydrates from forming in gathering systems, and in-plant facilities to meet a pipeline water dew point specification.

Watch Webinar

Webinar Objectives

  1. State why water removal is important, and list some typical pipeline water specifications

  2. Describe the components and process flow in a typical glycol dehydration unit

  3. State the typical TEG circulation ratios for a glycol dehydration system

  4. Determine the minimum lean TEG concentration required for a given water removal requirement

  5. Identify the Key Performance Parameters in a TEG Unit.

What Will Attendees Learn?

  1. Why we need to dehydrate natural gas

  2. How the components of the TEG dehydration process work, along with the normal process flow in a glycol dehydration unit

  3. What typical operating conditions are in a TEG unit

  4. What are the Key Performance Parameters in a TEG Unit

Who Should Attend?

This webinar is directed towards Supervisors, Operators, and Facilities Engineers working in facilities that have TEG Dehydration units associated with their operations. The seminar will also benefit anyone who wishes to update themselves on how TEG dehydration processes work, and what the critical operating parameters are to ensure proper performance.
