Facility Security Officer Training is designed to help you meet the requirements of 33 CFR 105.205 and the Coast Guard's Homeland Security initiatives. You will learn about the roles and responsibilities of the Facility Security Officer.
Target Audience
Operators, technicians, and other professionals who require knowledge to operate and maintain facilities safely and effectively.You Will Learn
Participants will learn how to:
- Describe security responsibilities.
- Identify the national and international regulations relating to maritime security.
- Describe the site security information that FSOs must be familiar with, including security organization, process equipment, and security equipment.
- Describe the purpose and requirements of the Facility Security Assessment (FSA) and Plan (FSP).
- Describe the types of records you must keep and the duration of retention.
- Properly interpret the meaning and requirements of the different MARSEC levels.
- Define the requirements for establishing and working in restricted areas.
- Describe contemporary security threat patterns.
- Identify suspicious behavior and describe how to respond to it.
- Describe the purpose and function of crowd management.
- Identify the requirements for emergency response and contingency planning.
