Respiratory Protection is designed to help you meet the training requirements of COSHH 2002 and Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992. It covers information mandated by the standard including respiratory hazards, types of respirators, respirator selection, fitting and maintenance, medical surveillance, and respirator training and administration.

Participants will learn how to:
- Describe the general requirements of the Respiratory Protection Standard, including assigned protective factors.
- Describe the function and design of air-purifying respirators.
- Identify air-supplying respirators by function and design.
- Identify respiratory hazards and describe how to safeguard against them.
- Identify and select the best respirator to safeguard against hazardous conditions.
- Recognize which components should be checked before using a respirator.
- Identify the proper procedures for putting on a respirator, obtaining a proper seal, and testing the seal.
- Recognize trouble signs that can indicate a respirator is not functioning properly and identify which medical conditions may prohibit respirator use.
- Identify how to use a respirator effectively in emergency situations.
- Describe the two methods of fit testing a respirator.
- Describe how respirators are inspected for defects.
- Recognize acceptable methods for cleaning respirators.
- Identify the proper ways to store respirators.
