In this course, you will learn about process component safety analysis, safety analysis checklists and safety analysis function evaluation charts. This course also includes topics covering out-of-service procedures and safety system testing. This program is designed for Production Foremen, Senior (Lead) Operators, “A” Operators, Instrument and Electrical Technicians, and/or other positions.

Participants will learn how to:
- Describe the correct design, installation, and operation of flow and wellhead injection lines.
- Describe the correct design, installation, and operation of headers, pressure vessels, and atmospheric vessels.
- Describe the correct design, installation, and operation of natural draft fired vessels, forced draft fired vessels, and exhaust heated components.
- Describe the correct design, installation, and operation of pumps and compressors.
- Describe the correct design, installation, and operation of pipelines and heat exchangers.
- Describe the purpose and elements of the Safety Analysis Table (SAT).
- Read and interpret information from Safety Analysis Checklists referenced in API's Recommended Practice 14C.
- Read and interpret information from SAFE Charts referenced in API's Recommended Practice 14C.
- Define out-of-service requirements for process components.
- Describe the steps for putting a well out-of-service.
- Describe the steps for putting vessels and separators out-of-service.
- Describe the steps for putting pipelines out-of-service.
- Describe the steps for putting pumps out-of-service.
- Describe the design and installation requirements for a production safety system.
- Identify the testing frequencies for safety equipment.
- Describe appropriate testing requirements.
- Calculate test tolerances for safety devices.
- Describe how to properly maintain reports and records.
