Ionizing Radiation is designed to help you meet the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1096. It covers information mandated by the standard, including safety problems associated with exposure to radiation, sources of ionizing radiation in the workplace, and procedures and devices which can minimize exposures.

Participants will learn how to:

- Identify sources of ionizing radiation in the workplace.
- Describe the safety and health problems associated with ionizing radiation exposure.
- Identify typical locations of radiation devices in the workplace.
- List the requirements for restricted areas, including warning signs, warning devices, written plans, and training.
- Recall how to properly store radiation devices to minimize the risk of exposure.
- Identify radiation monitoring and testing devices.
- Follow the procedures for a typical radiation emergency.
- Recognize your right to request and review radiation reports and other related documents.
