About the eLearning Course

Hearing Protection is designed to help you meet the training requirements of Health and Safety Executive Control of Noise Work Regulations 2005. It covers information mandated by the standard, including how noise affects hearing; the components of the Hearing Conservation Program; selection, fitting, the use of hearing protection devices; and audiometric testing.

Target Audience

Operators, technicians, and other professionals who require knowledge to operate and maintain facilities safely and effectively.

  • Describe how to properly don and use canal caps.
  • Describe how to properly don and use earmuffs.
  • Explain the purpose of audiometric testing.
  • Define audiogram and describe its purpose.
  • Define standard threshold shift and identify corrective actions for it.
  • Describe the requirements related to recordkeeping and training.
