Electrical Safety for Qualified Employees is designed to help you meet the training requirements of HSE Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Topics covered include identifying energized parts, testing for nominal voltage, grounding, personal protective equipment and safe clearance distances.

Operators, technicians, and other professionals who require knowledge to operate and maintain facilities safely and effectively.You Will Learn
Participants will learn how to:
- Distinguish exposed live parts from other parts of electrical equipment.
- Identify how to measure the nominal voltage of exposed live parts.
- Specify the test procedure for checking measuring instruments.
- Identify how to test hot wires to ground, neutral and other hot wires.
- Recognize the proper sequence of steps for taking electrical measurements.
- Inspect transformers for malfunctions.
- Inspect and troubleshoot switchgear.
- Identify the clearance distances required for work around energized electrical equipment.
- Identify the personal protective equipment that may be required for work on or around live electrical equipment.
- Define arc flash and describe the practices designed to prevent it.
- Recognize the insulating and shielding materials that may be required for work on or around live electrical equipment.
