About the eLearning Course
Asbestos is designed to help you meet the basic training requirements of Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Regulation 10. Subjects include the health effects of exposure, use and storage of asbestos, operations with exposure potential, engineering controls and work practices, respiratory protection and the medical surveillance program.

Participants will learn how to:
- Describe how asbestos can enter the body.
- Describe the health problems that result from asbestos exposure.
- Identify the control limit for asbestos and explain how monitoring is conducted.
- Recognize the typical location of asbestos-containing materials in the work area.
- List the engineering controls used when working around asbestos.
- List the safe work practices required for asbestos work.
- Identify the types of respiratory protection and protective clothing to be used when working around asbestos.
- Recognize the hygiene practices used when dealing with asbestos.
- Identify where the appropriate information on asbestos is available for inspection.
- Identify the elements required in a medical surveillance program for asbestos.
