Comprehensive Review, Capstone Exercise & Testing – Well Site Supervisor
About the Course
This course is part of the Track 1: Well Site Supervisor Development Program. Well Site Supervisor Development Program - Track 1 . Participants must have completed the other units within the Well Site Supervisor Development Plan to attend this course. The primary owner of each unit was asked to identify the major “takeaways” from their respective units to be included in the Comprehensive Review. These are focused on the ongoing role of being “the responsible party in charge” of implementing detailed procedures for all phases of drilling, completions, and well intervention. These major takeaways provide the basis for the comprehensive review and examination. In addition, a capstone exercise focused on the time breakdown from ten offset wells of the same well type used in the participant’s current assignment. This initial step toward the technical limit process provides the basis for pragmatic target setting for on-bottom and off-bottom activities for each hole interval with the rig crews. A total of 20 virtual instructor-led hours are included in this course.
Target Audience
Designed for field supervisors and junior field supervisors who are being developed to be well site supervisors; entry-level well site field personnel; experienced personnel who are cross-training to move into a supervisory role and lead operations at the well site.

Virtual Instructor Led Training
During five sessions spanning twenty virtual training hours, participants will meet with the instructor to discuss a comprehensive review of units grouped by topic, corresponding to the final exam administration. These include:
- Final Exam Session One Review: Units 1, 2, 12, 13
- Final Exam Session Two Review: Units 3, 4, 5
- Final Exam Session Three Review: Units 6, 7, 8
- Final Exam Session Four Review: Units 9, 10, 11
After initial framing in the first session, time is spent throughout Unit 14 addressing each participant’s questions about creating a “Best Well Composite” for each hole interval in their routine well types. Each participant will present their findings to their peers and look for opportunities to share best practices across company regions.
Back-to-Work Plan
Two weeks after the conclusion of Unit 14, four sessions are scheduled for testing. Up to three hours are allowed for completion of that day’s portion of the comprehensive exam.
